Player evaluations will take place on an age group basis and each player will be evaluated and placed at a Tier level that will provide them with optimal development.

In general the players will be evaluated on four main components, within small sided games:

  • Technical Ability: First Touch, Passing, Dribbling 1 vs. 1, Shooting, Finishing, Shielding, Trapping
  • Athletic Ability: Speed and quickness, Endurance, Size, Strength
  • Game Sense: Defensive ability, Vision, Decision Making, Communication
  • Character Traits: Commitment, Discipline, Desire and Drive

 Players:

  • All sessions will begin and end on time.
  • Arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled session and check in.
  • Attend all sessions scheduled for your age group to give you the best opportunity to be properly evaluated.
  • Wear appropriate clothing and equipment.
  • Bring a bottle of water.

Players with injuries must attend the evaluation sessions but are not expected to participate.  The District Head Coach and/or the Technical Committee and Team Head Coach will evaluate the injury and the player on past performance and determine if placement on a team is appropriate.

Note to Parents:

LFC coaching staff with their expertise may be observing skills and characteristics that parents may not be aware of, please keep this in mind and respect the coaches and their environment at all times.  If a parent has a question regarding the process of evaluation and placement they may contact the District Head Coach.  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
